This Privacy Policy explains how XYLENEX SIA (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application ExamHero (“the App”), published on Google Play.

1) Overview

ExamHero is designed to help users improve focus, productivity, and task management. We collect only the information needed to operate the App, improve performance, support users, and comply with platform requirements.

2) Information We Collect

A. Automatically collected information

When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically by the App and by third-party services we use (such as Google Firebase and Google AdMob), including:

• Device information (model, OS version), app version, and language
• Diagnostics and crash logs
• App usage and performance data (e.g., feature interaction, session stats)
• Network status
• Advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID) for ads and measurement when ads are enabled

B. Information you provide

Depending on how you use the App, you may provide:

• Notes you create inside the App
• Photos/images you capture using the system camera for the Notepad feature
• Calendar events created by you if you use Calendar Sync
• Support information you send us via email (such as your email address and message content)

3) How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide and maintain App features (Focus Timer, Notepad, optional sync)
• Improve performance, reliability, and user experience
• Detect, prevent, and fix bugs and crashes
• Show ads (if enabled) and measure ad performance
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

4) Permissions & Why They Are Needed

ExamHero may request certain permissions. You can deny optional permissions and still use many parts of the App, although some features may not work without them.

• INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: required for Firebase syncing/diagnostics and AdMob ads.
• WAKE_LOCK: keeps the timer reliable during focus sessions.
• VIBRATE: optional haptic feedback for session completion or actions.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): shows timer running or reminders (optional).
• CAMERA (optional / feature-based): lets you capture images for the Notepad feature.
• READ_CALENDAR / WRITE_CALENDAR (optional / feature-based): enables Calendar Sync.
• ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY (optional): allows controlling Do Not Disturb mode if you enable that feature.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE (optional): helps the timer run reliably in background on some devices.
• com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: used by AdMob for advertising and measurement when ads are enabled.

5) Ads (Google AdMob)

The App may display ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect information such as device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, and ad interaction data to provide and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted by your device and regional settings.

6) Firebase (Analytics / Crash Reporting / Optional Sync)

We use Firebase services to understand App performance and stability (e.g., analytics and crash reporting). Depending on your App configuration, Firebase may collect diagnostic and usage information.

7) Calendar Sync

If you enable Calendar Sync, the App can read and/or create calendar events on your device. Calendar access is used only to support the sync feature. You may disable Calendar permissions at any time in system settings.

8) Do Not Disturb (DND) Controls

If you enable the DND feature, the App may request special access to manage Do Not Disturb settings. This access is used only to reduce interruptions during focus sessions. You can revoke this permission anytime.

9) Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in these cases:

• With service providers used to operate the App (e.g., Google Firebase, Google AdMob)
• To comply with legal requests or obligations
• To protect our rights, users, or the public (e.g., fraud/security investigations)

10) Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

11) Children’s Privacy

ExamHero is not intended for children under the age of 13 unless explicitly stated. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12) Your Choices

• You can grant or revoke permissions in your device settings.
• You can limit ad personalization in your Google/Android settings (where available).
• You can contact us to request support regarding your data (see Contact section).

13) Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
